Many thanks for your interest in WESTERN EASTERN COMMUNITY OIL.
EN 590 was introduced with the introduction of European emission standards.EN590 is a specification for the physical properties of diesel fuel for sale in the EU, Switzerland, Norway and Iceland. This standard defines various properties of diesel fuel. These include density, sulphur content, cetane number and cold flow properties.
Each time EN 590 has been updated, the result has been a reduction in the sulphur content of diesel fuel. Since 2007, this type of diesel fuel has been referred to as "Ultra Low Sulphur Diesel", as it no longer serves as a lubricant and must be replaced by additives.
Autodiesel EN 590 is designed for use in diesel engines. The quality of the diesel fuel complies with the European standard EN 590. Although these specifications are not legally binding, they are complied with by fuel suppliers in Europe. The total quantity of diesel fuel produced meets the requirements of the Euro 4 and Euro 5 standards for vehicle fuels.
The low sulphur content of EN 590 diesel fuel is particularly important for climate protection as it reduces the emission of sulphur oxides into the atmosphere.
